Keller Named Wisconsin ESOP Company of the Year

Keller Planners, Architects and Builders has been named Wisconsin's ESOP Company of the Year for 2008, a distinguished award given by the Wisconsin ESOP Association during its annual meeting on Tuesday, April 15.  The Wisconsin ESOP Association is the regional trade association for companies with employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs) and the leading voice in America for employee ownership.

The ceremony, which was held at the Country Springs Hotel and Conference Center in Pewaukee, honored Keller for it's submersion into a corporate-wide ESOP culture.  Keller has been 100% employee owned since 2005 and an active member of the ESOP association since 1986 when Walter Keller first decided to sell his company to the Employees.

Keller's mission to "build every building as if it were our own" is not taken lightly at the company of 200 employee owners.  Employee empowerment allows employee owners to make corporate decisions, such as how to best arrange the organizational structure, and what new tools and technology should be purchased to work most efficiently.  Keller's "Cheerleading Committee" insures that Keller stays active in the communities it serves and includes all employees in corporate events, communications and celebrations.

Doug Stecker, Chief Financial Officer of Keller said, "To be named ESOP Company of the Year is not only flattering, but also motivating.  Because ESOP cultures aren't very prevalent in today's corporate structure, we've had to pave our own way with being very creative with many of our business decisions.  The Wisconsin ESOP Association, along with the Principal Financial Group of Appleton, have been a huge support system for us and we share any accomplishments with them and our 200 employee owners."
